Here's to 2009
Here we are - at the precipice of a year of fear yet of wonder. Past is past, but often it's reference explains now and tomorrow. We set our mood, then, by considering these words from T.S. Eliot:
“For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice.”And:
“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”Asked whether we will posit a resolution for 2009, we lean again to words by another:
“Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.” Oscar Wilde
